Mirror, mirror, in the charity shop....

I wish I could hear my Canadian friends reading that title - I love the Canadian pronunciation of the word 'mirror'!I have regained some of my energy, and this morning I went on a carbohydrate-fuelled trip to few charity shops in Stockbridge (the joy of having a high metabolism while my hormones continue to be weird). I am at the stage now where a bit of activity in the day does me no harm, and that's wonderful! Look at my haul - a stack of magazines, 25p each; some scone cutters, a flower candle and this lovely mirror, which will be one of the first that Ben and I put up on what we want to become a 'wall of mirrors' to lighten our dark, cool French home.

Not pictured are a whole stack of 'Roman Mysteries' - books written for the age of our own boys and most of my pupils, and a set of Anne of Green Gables for my students, plus 'Round Ireland with a Fridge', which Ben has wanted for ages!

Thank you for your continued well-wishes for both me and my mum - we find your care and concern really encouraging! You are a super bunch of bloggers...

Glad you are feeling well enough to go trawling the charity shops now and what a haul you got. Love that mirror and the mags for only 25p were a find too. Enjoy the remainder of your holiday in UK.

Floss, what a great bit of loot! That mirror is almost identical to one I have. Don't you just love all the character of the older ones? A wall of mirrors is brilliant it will most certainly brighten any area. So wonderful to hear you are getting around a bit and having some fun.

I've taken a break from blogging, and I'm sorry to hear you've not been well. Your finds look lovely - especially the mirror.

So glad you are starting to feel well enough to venture out on a shopping trip. And what a lovely haul you have.

I've been saying the word mirror over and over to myself, trying to figure out how I say it differently than the rest of the world....

Fun finds. I love buying books at 2nd hand stores. I've purchased a lot of Bible reference materials for penny's on the dollar at these stores, plus different Bible translations.

Pretty mirror.

Lovely to hear that you are able to get out and about enough to find some treasures. I imagine traveling must be fatiguing in it's own right, along with the rest. Be sure to put your feet up when you need.
I haven't been treasure hunting in ages, I tried to go today with the small one and should have known better. She came away with a couple of nice books though.

Best wishes for the rest of your travels!
